Two American cyclists were killed and injured on Sunday in Danghara district, Central Asia's Tajikistan, when a car hit them before fleeing the scene, US officials said.
The seven cyclists included Well, two Dutch citizens and three other foreigners, News.com.au reported
"Three foreigners were killed at the scene and another died in the hospital," Tajikistan's Interior Ministry told the news agency.
The other three suffered minor injuries.
A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty reported.
In a statement, the US embassy in Dushanbe confirmed that two of the dead US citizens.
"For privacy reasons, we can not provide any further details, our condolences go to the families of the victims, and we will continue to work with the Tajik authorities on the ongoing investigation," the statement said.
