Two people were killed on Saturday when a small plane crashed through a roof of a childcare center in a camp district near Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.
The unidentified victims were the pilot and a passenger. The crash set fire to the Autism Therapy Center, but none of the children in Fort Lauderdale, Battalion boss Steven Gollan, were injured.
One of the eight teachers was slightly injured when she helped evacuate children firefighters took them on a stretcher from the building.
The crash was reported at 13:30 pm at 1101 Northwest 62nd Street.
There were heavy flames in the beginning, but the Fort Lauderdale Fire Department got them under control
The plane crashed through the roof on the north side of the building, which was east of the airport.
