On Thursday morning, two people were killed when a tornado hit Ruston, Louisiana, the governor said, warning that the threat of the storms was not over.

"Our prayers are today with the people of Ruston, Governor John Bel Edwards tweeted.
Ruston in the north of the state is about 70 miles east of Shreveport.
The Louisiana State Police and the Louisiana National Guard are helping local supporters, he said.
Harsher weather will hit the Gulf Coast region on Thursday.
Severe weather weather alarms and warnings, including tornado watches and warnings and heavy thunderstorms, are in effect.
