Arizona primary elections – Elections close at 10 pm
Arizona voters will elect one of three Republican candidates to seat Sen. Jeff Flakes, who resigned last fall Resignation Announced:  Joe Arpaio
McSally, a congressman, is the penchan of the national republican establishment. Ward, a former state senator, ran in the Republican primary against McCain in 2016. Ward is a controversial figure on the right and recently made waves for claiming that the McCain family is planning its announcement that McCain will no longer seek medical treatment specifically for the damage she is politically. Arpaio is the former Sheriff of Maricopa County who was known to use racial profiling methods as a sheriff. He was pardoned by Mr Trump in August 201
And Democrats will choose between:
- Deedra Abboud
- Kyrsten Sinema
Sinema, a Congresswoman, is expected to cross to victory in the primary time of Tuesday.
McCain's seat is not filled in the prime time of Tuesday. Arizona Governor Doug Ducey appoints replacement after McCain is completely put to rest.
Meanwhile, Ducey himself is running for reelection against the Republican challenger former Arizona Foreign Minister Ken Bennett. Democratic governor candidates include:
- David Garcia
- Steve Farley
- Kelly Fryer
President Trump supported Ducey on Monday on Twitter. "Governor Doug Ducey from Arizona is doing a great job and it would be really nice to show his support tomorrow by voting for him in the Tuesday PV," Mr. Trump tweeted.
CBS News rates AZ-1 and AZ-2 as rival congressional districts as Democrats attempt to reverse 23 Republican seats this November. The 2nd congressional district is the seat of McSally.
