Although only a few weeks have passed since the Geneva Motor Show, we are experiencing another onslaught on a new product in New York. But while Geneva mixes a lot of concept cars with real street machines, serial cars can be found at the New York Auto Show.
As you scan the list below, you notice how many production models have been featured in the US Big Apple this week. There are a lot of important things to see and we encourage you to drive to the Javits Center from March 30th to April 8th to check them all out.
Acura made a big deal out ofin Detroit that year, but anyone who looked closely could see the production car underneath. To this end, Acura in New York, and we are really looking forward to coming after the .
While Alfa did not have much to offer this year, it brought the intense-looking Nero Edizione (aka Black Edition) package for the Giulia and the Stilvio SUV. Honestly, both were hot before that, but that's a very tasty look package. If you choose Nero Edizione pakage, you will get black grille surrounds, mirror caps, window screens, badges, wheels and hubcaps, headlamp covers and some caliper paints. The Stelvio also gets black roof rails and a black tail trim. Not a word about pricing, but we expect it next year.
When we learned that a new Audi Sport model would debut in New York, we expected it to be another version of the RS5. Maybe a convertible. Or maybe a super hot Sportback version. That would be nice, right? Well, dangit, and we pat ourselves on the back while secretly berating our bank accounts because the RS5 Sportback is a big green machine. However, Audi will show US customers the which recently debuted in Geneva.
We were looking for another Geneva transit, and we got that. BMW debuted thein sporty M40i trim, but that's been over already.
The Chiron Sport is
Cadillac has given usthat's cool and all, but it is that which is most excited under this sedan hood . This was the debut of the twin-turbo 4.2-liter V8, Cadillac's first bespoke engine since the Northstar V8, which has powered many front-wheel-drive retirement cars.
That's not all. Cadillachis new at the New York Show, a crossover that teased the company during the Super Bowl and Oscar.
Ford rolled the lightly refreshedfor us and it's not bad. The merger does not see many changes in the aesthetics department, but the plug-in hybrid version gets more EV range and becomes the first car in Ford's offer to get the Co-Pilot360 driver assistance package as standard equipment.
Not so long ago, Genesis boss Manfred Fitzgerald said that the Korean luxury brandand delivered a super sexy 2 with the +2, which does pretty much everything else on the show floor, looks stale in comparison.
While GMC unveiled itsa few weeks ago at an offsite in Detroit, the truck officially made it to New York, and we're pleased to announce the off Road trim option for the new Sierra, which features a two-inch lift, limited slip differential, two-speed transfer case and Skid plates. GMC also had Black Editions of the Acadia and Terrain SUVs on hand.
Honda showed a pre-production version of its new Insight Hybrid in January at the Detroit Auto Show, but now, for New York, it has theand its planning for waves. Positioned between Civic and Accord, the Insight Hybrid looks a bit like both, but also has its own unique atmosphere that we like. Honda estimates that the Insight Hybrid will be on average 55 miles a gallon in the city, so this will be a big deal if it hits showrooms later this year.
Although Hyundai first revealed aGeneva, the Korean automaker refused to confirm its availability in the US. But at a recent event in Hawaii, we'll finally get a Kona EV on the American model, and she'll debut in New York.
Apart from that, Hyundai has needed The NY Expo showsfor the first time US buyers and gets them, they will be available ! We've also seen a slightly updated Tucson crossover, and while it's not groundbreaking, we're not mad at it.
The Jaguar I-Pace Electric Crossover production
The other big news is thatto create a fully electric testing platform based on the new I-Pace Crossover.
After seeing teasers of hisand Kia finally gave in and showed us his redesigned and she is just as good and send like you. I hope it would be so. We bet it works well as well, as it shares a platform with the Stinger GT.
We also took a look at theand the and both are updated with some styling tweaks.
There's nothing new from Land Rover this time, except for the US debut of the ultra-exclusive (and ultra-expensive) Range Rover SV Coupe . You may never see any of them on the street, so take a load while you can.
Lexus' big revelation was thewhich debuted in Geneva already. We have also seen the new RC Coupe Black Line package which will apparently be limited to 650 copies. While Ford in New York does not have much more to show than the facelifted merger, its luxury arm, Lincoln, was planning a pretty debut.
recently confirmed a New York debut for the which is likely to be stuck between the Nautilus (born MKX) and Navigator in the company's commercial vehicle lineup beautiful, as we had hoped, given the fine features of his big brother.
Maserati has been pointing out a revelation of the New York show for a couple of weeks, but was very closed to the whole thing. Now we know why! It unveiled the Maserati Levante Trofeo, which is Italian for a stupid 590 horsepower SUV. Unlike the Alfa Stelvio, the Levante Trofeo does not come off with a meager V6, but instead gets a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 and we're sure it sounds amazing.
This is a mystery. We know that Mazda is showing something in New York, but the company has not confirmed anything yet. Well, an apology to stop by and see the(in the picture) again is fine for us. The new will also be there. Hmm … could a new Mazda3 be in stock for this year's show?
Mercedes has a lot to show in New York, although only a part of it is brand new. Sure, visitors will witness the North American debuts of theand but there were also a few world premieres.
Look for the upgraded– in C300 and AMG C43 forms – to make their debut and when just we least expected it, the new Coupé, sedan and cabriolet have also debuted. With 469 or 503 hp from the proven 4.0-liter turbo V8, it will be a real rocket when it hits dealers in early 2019.
We saw the brand new Altima sedan 2019004 2019 at the Nissan stand in New York and we liked what we saw. The 2.0-liter VC engine is the one to get for fun, but the 2.5-liter Four may have four-wheel drive for those of you who live in places with weather. It's an overall nice redesign for Nissan's long-established sedan and maybe it will give some crossovers a run for their money.
Subarus redesignedis very similar to the model that replaces it, making it robust, safe and spacious. Unfortunately, it will not be a thing, because Subaru says goodbye to the popular XT trim. This thing will sell like flat hats at a vape convention.
Toyota will hatch its newat the New York show – a car that was called Scion iM and later became the Corolla iM. It rides on a completely new platform and looks really good. But most of all, we're excited that it's the first Toyota to finally include Apple CarPlay. Small victories, right?
The biggest news from maybe the whole show is the redesigned and. It no longer looks as if it's just for mall parking, it needs styling DNA from its bigger brothers, the 4Runner and even the long-serving Land Cruiser. It also has the ability to mechanically decouple its rear drive axles when not needed to save fuel. We can not wait to get Emme Hall to try it.
Volkswagen has recently confirmed that it will build an SUV "" at its plant in Chattanooga, and we now know that it's called the Cross Sport Concept and it's a plug-in -Hybrid. It's a full 7.5 inches shorter than the full-size Atlas, but retains the same wheelbase. The concept is good and we expect a production version next year.
We also see a sportya car that has been on sale in Europe for some time but has still hit US showrooms. Fortunately, that will change in the fall.
Last but not least, we saw Volkswagen's newest pickup truck concept baptizedbecause why should your model names be pronounced by mortals? While it will probably never see production, and almost certainly not being sold in the US, if it did, it would probably be built on the same platform that underpins the Atlas SUV.
Volvo first demonstrated itsin Sweden in February and brought it to Geneva in March. The world tour continues with a US debut in New York and we will also see a of the compact XC40 crossover. Congratulations to Volvo for receiving the World Car Award for the XC60!
