2019 Farmers Insurance Open Highscore: Justin Rose takes the lead with three shots

Justin Rose sat down on Torrey Pines on Friday afternoon and extended his lead at the Farmers Insurance Open in 2019 with a second round on the South Course, having shot 63 on Thursday, just ahead of Jon Rahm.

Rose admitted that his game plan included going down on the North Course, where the field scored more than two shots on average to get into a good position if the South Course got the best of it on Friday would. Instead, Rose once again had one of the best rounds of the day in the field and took control of the tournament.

First Place ̵

1; Justin Rose (-15) : Really It's not much about Roses' game, which does not seem to be in control at the moment. While Jon Rahm and Billy Horschel, who both claimed the lead and the lead at various points of the day, fell back late in the day with errors, Rose separated from the group with constant play and became aggressive when she got the opportunity.

Last Place – Seamus Power (+10) : The South Course received the best of Power, which followed Thursday's 76 with a 78 on the more difficult course on Friday. Probably the best name in the field is certainly not a magical ticket to keep up with the weekend action, and power will go home with the other golfers who are not inferior to 3 or less.

Other contenders – Hideki Matsuyama (-12), Ryan Palmer (-10), Jon Rahm (-10), Billy Horschel (-10) : It was a particularly frustrating tie 72 for cream, who showed his frustration on the course and really lost the pace and rhythm driving his 62 on the North Course. Matsuyama is the under-the-radar player who has to go through the weekend from this group.

Stat of the Day : Rory McIlroy had the best lap of the day on the entire field, lying on the North Course at 65. McIlroy started the day with several eagles in his first nine holes, which he did since the 2014 Open did not do any more in a PGA Tour event, an event he would win.

McIlroy has a real opportunity to chase the leaders, and has shown the form in which he suggests this weekend. He is currently leading the field with punches that have been upgraded by the tee, and his round on Friday showed how fast he can rise in the rankings when the putts drop.

Quote of the day : "This way!" Rickie Fowler yelled angrily for a missed tee.

But the story is getting better: Fowler had hit his second shot from another tee and would have been nearly up and down for an eagle after an out-of-this-world second shot

Fowler's gear for Friday caused a stir So I'm so heavy: The shirt looks good. I would not be at the forefront of the unkempt trend myself, but for Fowler, this is not only a home game at Southern California, but also as the title sponsor of the event. I can see why this is a week to peacock, and I accept, but choose not to attend this occasional course.

Day Shot : We return to McIlroy, who hopped his approach to 16 for his second eagle of the day.

What to Watch for on the Weekend : Will Justin Rose get away with it? The weather forecast calls for more perfect conditions and just a touch more wind for the guides in the afternoon. Tiger Woods will be one of the first on the field, and we'll be watching his attempts to go down and put some pressure on the lead after completing his 70 on Thursday with another 70 on the lighter North Course on Friday.
