After a series of upstream activities, the NBA draft for 2019 was relatively quiet in terms of trade. But towards the end of the first round it started to increase. The Celtics and 76ers – two of the top Eastern Conference teams last season – have signed a deal with Matisse Thybulle, the outstanding defender of Washington.

The Night of the NBA Draft provides hope for franchised companies that are facing hard times, but also allows competing teams to take steps to improve their squads. There is usually at least one big trade taking place on the night of the Drafts, and with the league in the wings due to the Warriors' wounds, the Lakers Davis and so many stars on the free agent market could deliver some transaction fireworks on Thursday night.
