In the segment of heavy commercial vehicles there is a new player and we doubt that someone will not see it. Chevrolet today unveiled its redesigned Silverado HD pickup and gave us some outdoor shots that reveal a very cool design where people already have the Love-it-hate-it debate , Facing this huge front end, there's a new V8 petrol engine option and a 10-speed automatic for the Duramax diesel. Chevrolet also promises a "significant increase" in train and payload capacity.
We do not have complete information about this new chunky Chevy. Full release is scheduled for February, but we also expect Ram to release its new HD trucks by then. We also can not forget that Ford, who will soon get a new F-Series Super Duty, knows what we know about the big players in Detroit, and we would not be surprised if all three reworked workhorses arrive at the same time. In other words, if you're a fan of big, loaded pickup trucks, the next few months should be very exciting.
Let's start with some preliminary comparisons based on our knowledge and some well-founded speculations to improve things a long time. We'll also take a look at the styling, for damn that Chevy has a big nose. Admittedly, there is a lot of missing information, but we will update this table as it becomes available.
Now to all these stars. In short, it is either information from current models that we expect to adopt by 2020, or rumored information that we feel confident enough to include here. You see that diesel engines are the first choice for those looking for torque, but Ford and Chevrolet have some previously unknown gasoline V8 options in the plants. Team Ram is likely to retain its 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter V8 gas engines, but a few changes are out of the question. In addition, the new Ram is expected to gain more power from its Cummins diesel, but we have not heard any credible numbers yet.
We have not heard any figures regarding towing, cargo capacity or base price. The current generations for all three models are very competitive, but since the work gets soiled with a plethora of statistics, we are patient until new information comes out.
As far as the styling is concerned, we did not completely see the only new truck is the facelift from Ford. However, we can take a close look at Chevrolet and Ram.
As always, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but we find the current design trends very much interesting to say the least . It could be argued that Chevrolet and Ram exchanged ideologies, taking the approach of 19459004, which once defined Ram.
Meanwhile, a new Ford Super Duty (seen in the gallery above) hiding under camouflaged covers has a nose that as chunky as the Chevy. Whether his face will be as polarizing as Silverado HD remains to be seen. Strangely, it seems that Ram is now the lovable and attractive choice for meaty truck buyers. How ironic?
This comparison is still in progress, so bookmark the article and stay with us. We will conscientiously update this side-by-side solution as more information becomes available.
