Three Navy Sailors of USS George H.W. Bush Aircraft Carrier was killed in several incidents last week, officials said Monday.
The commanding officer of the aircraft carrier, docked at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Virginia, announced the death in a post on the ship's Facebook page on Monday. "With a heavy heart I can confirm the loss of three sailors last week in separate, incoherent incidents of obvious suicide. My heart is broken, "wrote Captain Sean Bailey in the announcement.
None of the deaths occurred on the vehicle docked for repair at the yard, the Navy Times reported. Bailey added in his statement that the week is the third, fourth, and fifth Sailor Weeks assigned to the ship to commit suicide within two years.
The crew members who last killed Bailey.
Bailey asked the sailors to make suggestions on how to put an end to the chain of suicides.
"We need our best to get involved by putting forward your suggestions and ideas on how we can work together to prevent further suicide," he wrote in the post, adding, "I would like to reiterate That this is the case is never a stigma or an effect of seeking help. "
