The former American Idol winner, Phillip Phillips, will bring "his first child" home very soon! The 29-year-old singer and songwriter visited Instagram on Wednesday to tell fans and followers that he and his wife Hannah will be expecting their first child later this fall.
The couple, who have been married for three years, announced the news with a charming snapshot of the couple looking into the camera as it lay between Hannah's ultrasound and a white romper with the word "gentleman" on it, revealing how the expectant parents would have a little boy. The photo has since received more than 40,000 likes and hundreds of congratulations and wishes after the release.
"Phillip and Hannah are sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes the love, then comes the marriage, then comes in the fall a baby in the stroller! # P ^ 3 ", Phillips has titled the snapshot.
Hannah went on her own social media account and shared the same image in black and white, in which she wrote as the couple "Keep a secret this year".
"A new little guy will come in a few months," she wrote.
Best known for winning the 11th season of Idol in October 2015, Phillps tied the knot to his seven-year-old girlfriend at the Resora Plantation in Albany, Georgia.
Shortly after the intimate ceremony, Phillips released a video of her wedding day with a song written with his friend Tim Bruns for their first dance "Dance With Me". The video, which has been watched more than 1.3 million times on YouTube, shows the couple preparing for their big day in a country house style.
At the time, Phillips told PEOPLE that he was thrilled to tie the knot with his best friend.
"What I love most about her is that she's my best friend and I can tell her something," he said. "We are fun. We have our own little language in which we talk [in] and it's weird!
The bride added, "I feel like when I met Phillip, he was the answer to so many questions that I had. He just makes everything sense for me.
In an interview with the 2018 publication, Phillips explored in detail how Hannah has helped him over the years, especially during a "really difficult" period of his career. According to PEOPLE Phillips was "manipulated" by 19 Entertainment after he was not allowed to release or produce new music until June 2017 until he finally reached an agreement in the lawsuit.
Phillips credits Hannah with having a "frightening" time and praising her as she was at Idol at his side – especially when he suffered numerous operations for chronic kidney problems.
"I was 21 years old [during the show] and was really sick too," Phillips said during his time with Idol. "I wanted to stop because I hurt myself so much. I could barely walk 50 meters without having to sit down and she really helped me with it. She would help me walk and do so much. She's the one who keeps me going. "
Congratulations to the parents!
