COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – Four-Yearold Joshua was the newest member to attend On Tuesday, he took the police oath of Colorado Springs before embarking on another six-month round of exhausting chemotherapy.
CSPD hosted Joshua and his family Tuesday morning; Joshua was sworn in full uniform and as a volunteer cadet to the cheers of many officers in the department.
Joshua was born on December 23, 2013, and was diagnosed with stage IV kidney cancer when he was only three years old. He received chemo and radiation therapy and had a tumor 11 centimeters removed. He was officially declared remorse last December.
But in January, a tumor was discovered in one of his lungs and was diagnosed to be cancerous. As of Thursday, he will undergo stronger, more aggressive chemotherapy and doctors will harvest his stem cells for further treatment.
Joshua's mother is a US Air Force station based at Peterson Air Force Base. His family has just moved to Springs in March, and he is already wholeheartedly welcomed into the community.
And yes, Joshua has many free donuts.
