Windows 10 ($ 92.99 at Amazon.com) April 2018 update is almost here. (It was formerly known as Windows 10 Spring Creators Update.) While received the headings and there is a number of smaller ones but still have useful features that are worth paying attention to.
Cortana puts lists and reminders to the fore
Cortana's notebook page looks a bit different with the April 2018 update, giving lists and reminders a higher priority. Cortana's Notebook page now includes two tabs that make it easy to navigate. On the Organizer tab, your lists and reminders are now in the middle and in the middle, making it easier to use these two tools. The rest of the notebook tools are located on the Manage Competencies tab to connect apps and smart home devices, set calendar settings, and so on.
Also, a pen icon button appears next to the name on the Organizer tab which allows you to add your favorite places, such as home and work locations, to get traffic information for your trip. This is not a new setting, but it was previously buried on the About Me page in Cortana's notebook.
Fixed Blurry Apps
Not all scaling efforts are successful. Windows 10 has a scaling option that, for example, increases the size of fonts and icons on high-resolution displays so you can read text without squinting, while keeping the display in its native resolution, where the image is sharpest and sharpest. However, sometimes this scaling can lead to blur. Now you can try Windows to fix a blurred scaling result. Go to Settings> System> Display> Advanced Scaling Settings and enable . Let Windows try to fix applications that are not out of focus .
Stop unresponsive apps
If you encounter an unresponsive app, you should probably press Ctrl-Alt-Delete, launch Task Manager, select your problematic app, and click Stop Task. It still works, but after Microsoft packs more features and functionality into the Settings app, it lets you stop apps that are frozen. Go to Settings> Apps> Apps & Features Find the bad app on the list, click on Advanced Options and then on the Terminate button.
Larger, Better Gamebar
The Windows 10 Gaming Exploits gamebeg has been expanded to include a few new buttons and a clock. You can now track the time with a clock on the left, and new buttons allow you to turn your PC's camera and microphone on and off.
Windows 10 S only: Sign in with the Authenticator app
I have not tried this problem yet, but it looks promising if you have Windows 10 S. I hope it will soon be added to the normal old Windows 10 way to set up and use your PC without ever having to enter a password or PIN. April 2018 Update and Windows 10 S, according to Microsoft, you can use the Authenticator app to set up your PC. And then you can log in with Windows Hello with your webcam and face. No passwords ever!
I regularly use the Authenticator app on my iPhone ($ 999.99 at Cricket Wireless) to log in to Microsoft apps that I've set up with two-factor authorization and love how fast and painless the process is going on. I would like to be able to set up a new PC without having to create and remember another password in my life.
Special Reports: CNET's incoming features in one place.
