Delta Aquariid meteor shower illuminates the night sky

Summer nights are shorter, but a great time to explore Meteor Shower and the Delta Aquariid Shower Peaks Sunday night. Although it is a fairly average meteor shower, you can still see up to 20 meteors per hour. The best time to look up is between midnight and just before sunrise. Look in the direction of the southern sky for the best view. This event is just a warm-up to one of the most important meteor showers of the year: the Perseids, which take place in mid-August with 50 or more meteors per hour.


At the end of July the meteor shower Delta Aquariid arrives. Bonus: The Perseid Meteor Shower has also started.

The family of a man who died in a "freak" accident, says goodbye forever

A husband from North Carolina and father of six children suffering from a "freak" beach accident killed on Saturday is laid to rest] his wife announced on Twitter . Lee Dingle, who died of a "powerful" wave on a beach in North Carolina, knocked him down and broke his neck. He was described by those who knew him as a generous man and a caring father. He was also a registered organ and tissue donor. Carolina Donor Services spokesman Chuck Heald told US TODAY that Dingle's Gift of Life will save and cure up to 75 people. He added, "He will be seen by so many people as a hero because he was a registered donor." Services are held at The Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh, where the family is attending, according to The News & Observer.

Tour de France Odyssey Ends

The most famous cycling competition in the world, the exhausting three-week Tour de France, comes to an end on Sunday as riders finish their journey on the Champs -Élysées in Paris. Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe seemed ready to claim the yellow jersey in a massive shock, but the weather conditions on the Friday stage saw Colombian Egan Bernal take first place. There is still much to do. On Saturday, the last alpine mountain stage will take place, where the overall winner of the race will be determined. Then on Sunday the peloton will go through the leisurely procession to Paris, which only the sprinters will vigorously contest.

Yes, this wonderful summer week returns to Discovery Sunday with a series of new shows around sharks, including the first original theme week movie. Based on a true story, "Capsized: Blood in the Water" plays Josh Duhamel as captain of a yacht capsizing in a Florida storm while her crew is pursued by sharks. If that does not shake your TV boat, comedian Rob Riggle has persuaded several friends to join him for a trip with sharks in "Shark Trip: Eat. Prey. Chum" at Riggle, Damon Wayans Jr. ("New Girl") and Anthony Anderson ("Black-ish") gets into a "human bait box" while sharks swim around them … yikes! With more than 20 hours of programming a week, Shark Week runs until Sunday, August 4th.

WNBA's Biggest Stars Travel to Vegas

The biggest stars of the WNBA will be in Las Vegas in the All-Star Game on Saturday night be visible. This year, WNBA stars Elena Delle Donne and A'ja Wilson were the team captains, each teaming up for the high-profile show game. Delle Donne chose Brittney Griner for her first choice, while Wilson selected Chelsea Gray first for her team. While the game was played in the famous party town, Delle Donne told the Associated Press that her plan was simple. "Those who do not celebrate hardest will win this game," she said. "If you have parties on your side, you're done."
