Eighty-five people were injured after a flight from Aeromexico crashed on their way to Mexico City.
[#19659002] Flight # 2431 took off Tuesday afternoon at General Guadalupe Victoria International Airport in the northwestern Mexican state of Durango when it crashed, according to Governor Durango's José Rosas Aispuro Torres.

Aeromexico wrote Twitter on Wednesday just after 5pm. ET that he was aware of an "accident" in the northwestern Mexican state of Durango.

On board the Embraer 190 were 97 passengers and four crew members, Mexico's Secretary of Communications and Transport Gerardo Ruiz Esparza wrote on Twitter.
Aispuro Torres asked the state security and emergency services to respond to the accident, he wrote on Twitter. Any numbers for the number of injured passengers are not yet available, wrote Aispuro Torres.

Survivors are transported to the area's hospitals, a spokesman for Durango's State Civil Protection Coordination told reporters. Some survivors were able to walk from the accident to a nearby road, the spokesman said.

Although a fire broke out after the plane crashed, none of the injured seem to have suffered any burns said Alejandro Cardoza, a spokesman for Durango Civil Protection, on Mexican television. The fire seems to be under control, Aispuro Torres told reporters.
