DETROIT – Over 850 Aramark workers in Michigan and Ohio quit Saturday at midnight for better wages, health care and retirement.

According to UAW, Aramark maintenance workers at Hamtramck, Warren, Flint, Grand Blanc and Parma, Ohio, have been working on an extended contract since March 2018.
"Every day UAW members go to work and keep these assets profitable," said Frank Stuglin, director of UAW region 1
Important topics are wages, limitation of health insurance, vacation time, job security and old-age provision.
"Every day, these UAW members play a vital role in maintaining the operation of these facilities," said Rich Rankin, director of UAW Region 2B. "Aramark must provide these workers with decent wages and benefits."
