An American died on Mount Everest.
55-year-old Don Cash was based in Utah and his children told Salt Lake City's NBC subsidiary KSL-TV that he had died shortly after graduation, seeking to reach the summit of the highest mountain on every continent.
"He taught us that nothing is impossible," his daughter Brandalin Cash told KSL.
The exact cause of death for Cash is unclear, but his family believes he had a heart attack as he descended from the highest mountain in the world. His family told KSL that Sherpas, guides on Everest, were trying to perform CPR and give him oxygen, but he died on the way back to camp.
According to the Himalayan Times, Cash is the 12th mountaineer to die in the mountains BMC Software, Cash's former employer, told NBC News, "Our thoughts and deepest condolences go to Don Cash's family at this difficult time." One of my mother's last messages was that you supported me in my dreams, "said Brandalin Cash." He wanted that, he wanted to be on this mountain, he wanted to show that he can make dreams happen and that others can too.
