37-year-old Ryan Linneman was discovered at the bottom of a 50-foot canyon, where his car came to a halt after falling off the road near Kansas City on Wednesday.
He was reported missing at his home in the 2004 Honda Accord on October 10, when his family worried about his mental and physical well-being.
After exhausting the usual efforts to find him, detectives turned to the public, according to Sgt. Chris Depue, the public information officer of the LSPD.
A motorcyclist leaving the track has found Linneman. Since Kansas City, Missouri was outside the jurisdiction of the LSPD, the police were the first to arrive at the scene.
However, the police are still trying to narrow the timeline to see how Linneman survived.
"To say that it was lucky for him that the biker came by is an understatement," Mahoney said.
According to Depue, Linneman was taken to hospital in critical condition with multiple fractures and severe frostbite. He stays in intensive care.
