Two days before Thanksgiving, Tech boss Keith Caneiro was found dead on his lawn with a bullet wound on his head. The remains of his wife and two small children were discovered in their mansion Colts Neck, New Jersey, which had been set on fire, the local prosecutors said.
Paul Caneiro, Keith's brother, was arrested and charged with severe arson on Wednesday. Not to set fire to his brother's house, but to burn his own house, hours before the apparent fourfold murder. Paul Caneiro's wife and two daughters were also in the house at the time, though no one was injured.
At a press conference on Wednesday, Monmouth Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said he believed the family of Keith Caneiro, whom he called "victims of violence". According to NBC News, he was "one of the most disgusting cases" he had ever seen.
The two fires on Tuesday may seem too similar to coincidence, but Gramiccioni did not say whether Paul Caneiro was a suspect death of Keith Caneiro, 50; his wife, Jennifer Caneiro, 45; 8-year-old Sophia; and 1
The brothers were business partners at Square One, a technology company in Asbury Park. A neighbor told the Asbury Park Press that he saw Paul Caneiro and his family near his home in Ocean Township around noon and removed him from his brother's Colts Necks estate on Willow Brook Road, to which the firefighters responded at 12:30 pm ,
The typically picturesque town of Colts Neck was home to celebrities such as Queen Latifah, members of the band Bon Jovi, and a shelter run by Jon Stewart and his wife.
Attorney Robert Honecker, representing Paul Caneiro, did not respond The Washington Post asked for a comment, but told CNN that his client is keeping his innocence alive. "His family fully supports his defense against this indictment, and no evidence has been provided to give a reason why he would engage in such behavior, and he fully expects to be confirmed when this case is finally settled ", he said.
Caneiro is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
