Apple may have released an updated version of its AirPods in the first quarter of 2019 and may redesign the device for the year 2020. 9to5Mac cites a new report from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has already done so, says that demand for equipment will rise dramatically in the coming years.
There were rumors throughout the summer that upgrading AirPods would debut during the product launches this fall, but they never appeared on stage. If Kuo's predictions are correct, support for wireless charging will be provided for the new models. However, it is not clear if this means an improved case or the earphones themselves. There are also a few other changes that are consistent with previous rumors ̵
In addition to the potential upgrade for 2019, Kuo points out that there will be a "completely new design" for the 2020 AirPods, but does not go into details and does not mention the long-delayed AirPower mat. Kuo allegedly claims that AirPods are Apple's most popular accessory, and predicts that the company will sell 16 million to more than 100 million in 2017.
