A nice game, but a good one?

No Man's Sky Hello Games

It was a bit hard to believe that I was sitting around looking forward to publishing a [ No Man's Sky Update yesterday in 201

I just spent a day with No Man's Sky NEXT and was mainly in creative mode, so I did could do as much as I could without worrying about grinding fuel and the like. There is much more to experience, but so far my impressions of the update have been a bit mixed.

One of the biggest changes in the game was visually. Planets should be both remotely (they now have rings!) As well as when they come to the surface. Visual fidelity has been increased everywhere, which can be seen especially on ships, in wildlife and even on the ground itself on planets.

This can make the game look as great as I've ever seen. All you have to do is search the #NoMansSkyNEXT hashtag on Twitter to see some absolutely stunning footage from the game, and yet the game always has some pretty great pictures even before photo mode was added.

But with this update I keep stumbling across some pretty serious technical issues. The visual pop-in is worse than ever for me, objects are created when you are only a few meters away from them. And while all things close up look good, the new volumetric clouds in look awful like huge, blurry splashes of color that feel like macular degeneration or something. It was in the patch notes that they will eventually be updated, but for the moment they just look terrible and can ruin any screenshot in which you find them.

After that, the game keeps making this strange thing, where every time I use my pulse drive to go to hyper-speed, the sound in my play for Burns for a few seconds and a loud BRRRRRRRRR spits at me first time. And it happens every time I start the engines. And more generally, playing No Man's Sky makes my PS4 look like a dying Geo Metro from 1994, as if it's constantly on the verge of overheating while the fan is working overtime, no matter what I do currently.

How about all the other stuff? The best way to experience No Man's Sky at this time is probably to just start over from scratch, what the account I have 100 hours around the start and for the first base Building Update is a bit of a crap But it has changed so much that it makes no sense to continue. New currencies, new materials. The elaborate base that I built on a planet I loved was broken because the entire planet changed with the new update.

So it's probably the best plan to be an Xbox player who has never experienced the game before. Basically, it's a completely different title than the one launched in 2016. But I can never really do this experience, so it's a little bit difficult to judge what's changed, how it would be to experience it all fresh

I'll have to gather more thoughts while trying to create a new story Run "without infinite resources and the like, but I will say that some of what is added is not something that is particularly important to me. For example, this relentless focus on multiplayer does not interest me as if I play No Man's Sky it certainly is not with the desire to "ascend" and wage war against other players. For me, that's in contrast to what NMS is, despite the fact that no multiplayer was such a big sticking point for people for so long. Personally, I'm not really interested in a third-person camera because the character models in this game do not look good, and I do not see them most of the time, in truth. Similarly, while I think that NMS could have benefited from slightly more structure than what we've seen, collect quests and an increased focus on the fight Also, not really the aspects of the game that is personally important to me. If I want to collect weapons upgrades and shoot robot aliens, I play Destiny and no matter how much battle is improving in No Man's Sky, it's never going to be a real shooter and really It should not be. That was never the point of the game.

I guess it all depends on what you want from No Man's Sky. At this point, I think I'm content to just drive around to find beautiful planets and landscapes, secure the coolest ships and freighters, and not really worry about much more. I guess I could put another 100 hours into the game and try to do a bunch of missions and follow story quests, but after two years I'm just not sure if I have that in me, so much that added to the game NEXT did not do things that are particularly important to me.

But I have to give it more than a day, and I plan to do it. But I do not know what I think so far about NEXT, between its technical problems and the addition of aspects like multiplayer that I never really had to see.
