A woman charged in the death of Dickson Co.'s Deputy continues to search f



DICKSON, TN (WSMV) –

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said that a Dickson woman was charged with the death of a Dickson District MP on Wednesday morning.

Erika Castro-Miles, 38, was charged with first-degree murder and is in custody in Dickson County Jail.

Authorities found that Castro-Miles was involved in the death of Dickson County Sheriff Sgt. Daniel Baker

Local, state, and federal officials spent Wednesday looking for Steven Wiggins, who is accused of shooting and killing Baker.

Baker responded to a suspicious car call at 7am on Wednesday.

When his comrades from Baker heard nothing, they followed his car with GPS.

They found Baker shot dead in a forest in his cruiser.

Baker joined the Sheriff Department of Dickson County in February 2008. He was promoted to Patrol Corporal in April 201

1 and became Patrol Sergeant in September 2012. He joined the Dickson County SORT team in August 2013.

Baker was previously an MP in Humphreys County before becoming a member of the Sheriff's Dickson County Office. He also worked as a guard at the Renaissance Center in Dickson. He was also in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He is survived by a wife and a daughter.

Investigators said the video showed Steven Wiggins running away from the scene.

Investigators took a woman into custody to question her but did not respond.

Law enforcement agencies are looking for Wiggins in the Bear Creek Valley Road area and Tidwell Switch Road.

Later searches focused on an area near I-40 and the exit of Highway 48.

Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe said that the department has lost one of its best MPs and will not rest until Wiggins goes to court is brought. He said that Wiggins represents an extreme danger to the community.

"Our agency has not only lost a brother, but our community has lost a hero," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "RIP our brother, we'll take it from here."

Wiggins is a white man with bald, brown hair. He is 6'1 "tall and weighs 220 lbs.Wiggins is considered armed and dangerous and can walk.Women who see Wiggins are asked to call 911 or 1-800-TBI-FIND.

The TBI, the FBI, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the US Marshals Service, and several other agencies are helping in the search.

The TBI has Wiggins in listed his Top 10 Most Wanted list and offered a $ 12,500 reward for information leading to his arrest.

The agency also released a Blue Alert for Wiggins. A Blue Alert is similar to an Amber Alert, but is used when police officers have been killed or seriously injured in action. This is only the second time that TBI has released a Blue Alert in the history of the program.

Kingston Springs police confirmed that Wiggins was involved in a fight with his girlfriend on Tuesday. He allegedly beat the woman and held a gun in her face as he stole her car. Wiggins is being sought for serious assault and theft in connection with this incident.

Court records show that Wiggins is no stranger to the police. He is convicted of grievous bodily harm, theft, vandalism and domestic violence.

The Tennessee Department of Correction confirms that Wiggins should be registered for community surveillance earlier this year, but has not appeared. His status is currently considered funky, meaning that the state wanted to find him.
