On a night when eight of the top 10 picks of 2018 were in action, the youngest rookie was brought into the limelight by everyone.
This does not mean that Jaren Jackson Jr. emerged out of nowhere on Friday night. Overall, the fourth choice was better than expected as a key element in the Memphis grinding and grinding machine.
But what Jackson did against the nets was (or should be) a wake up call. A Spencer Dinwiddie bucket had taken Brooklyn to 111-104 in just 33 seconds.
Then Jackson knocked on his inner Larry Johnson and scored a 4-point game.
A Nets turnover gave Memphis the ball back. The nets defended the first options of Memphis well and left Marc Gasol only on one island.
Gasol did not hesitate to swing the ball to Jackson, because why not trust a 1
The rash shot hit low and sent the game into overtime, where Memphis ruled for a win of 131-125 on the road. Jackson Jr. finished with 36 points and eight rebounds.
The Grizzlies are now 13-8 in midfield of the upper crust of the Western Conference. Jackson Jr. is a big reason for that. His versatility (2.1 blocks per game and 34.9 percent of 3) was at least as impressive as Deandre Ayton's offensive efficiency or Wendell Carter Jr.'s defensive presence.
Most important to him is the game of Jackson Jr. in a healthy atmosphere. Of the top 10 picks in June, only he and Mohamed Bamba (Orlando) play for teams in the playoff position.
The experience is invaluable to Jackson – just as invaluable to the Grizzlies.
The Mavs rookie is probably more concerned about his 2:13 shooting performance (19459014) than a rapid-fire highlight. But who saw this double order of LeBron denials served by the 19-year-old Slovene?
Luka Vs. LeBron, Part II
Doncic also seemed to get the best out of James when he dropped an offensive foul against the four-time Kia MVP in the same quarter.
Lebron made it clear in interviews after the game that the collision on his part was very intentional.
LeBron talks about a game against Luka Doncic. After the double block, Doncic was positioned to make an indictment of him.

The rockets were far from perfect before Chris Paul had three games with them Tense Achilles tendon missed.
The time without him was brutal. Houston olé achieved a defensive 128.8 in this section. The worst team in the league (Cleveland) is 14 points better than that.
With their second point guard, the Rockets looked much better in their 136-105 over San Antonio. Paul scored 14 points and 10 assists, so Harden only had to carry the mammoth load he carried a little less. Clint Capela (27 points, 12 rebounds) benefited from their shared presence. Eric Gordon and Gerald Green combined for half of the Rockets' 22 3-pointers.
Houston is still facing challenges. The Spurs are a middle-class Slog that requires little defensive elasticity. The Rockets will face six West teams in the first half of December in the overall standings. With or without Paul, this track could dominate the first half of their season.
It would probably be better for him.
It is strange for the Spurs. The old guard is gone. They sit next to Phoenix in the standings (visually, if not record-breaking). Most alarming was Friday's setback to Houston for the first time since 1987 in consecutive games of 31 or more.
This year, San Antonio authored David Robinson.
Kyrie Irving was the Cavs & # 39; point-watcher for six years. Cleveland's new man, Collin Sexton, found out first-hand how big these shoes are.
Clothing speaks more than words, and no one was louder than those in honor of the deceased Craig Sager were born about two years after his death. Coaches, players and even NBA officials continue to hold their extravagant honors.
