Get to know the most powerful Chromebook in the world. Or, at least, Acers Chairman and CEO Jason Chen talked about his new Chromebook Spin 1
Two USB-C ports and 2×2 802.11ac Wi-Fi complete the package, and if you prefer to have it as a pure laptop, Acer will provide you with its Chromebook 13 with the same design and design Component options, minus the 360-degree hinges.
Acer also announced a 15.6-inch Chromebook Spin 15, the industry's first two-in-one Chromebook in its size. Strangely enough, Acer decided to keep the specifications somewhat modest despite the larger screen size:
- 1920×1080-pixel display
- Intel Pentium N4200, Celeron N3450 or N3350 processors
- 4GB or 8GB memory 32GB or 64GB Memory
Again, you can opt for a standard laptop version, the Acer Chromebook 15 ($ 89.00 at Amazon Marketplace) . Available with or without a touch screen, it has the same component options as the Spin 15, but Acer says it will get an hour more battery life after 14 hours.
Finally, if you're not interested in Chrome and want a "real" operating system, Acer will have a new 15.6-inch version of Swift 5 with Windows 10. Made of superlight magnesium-aluminum alloy like the Swift 5 weighs less than 1 kilogram. Slim surrounds surround the full HD screen and add to the high-quality look. Like many Acer laptops, the Swift 5 will be available in several configurations:
- Up to Intel Core i7-8550U processor
- Up to Nvidia GeForce GTX MX150 graphics
- up to 16GB of RAM, expandable to 32GB Up to 512GB of PCIe NVMe SSD or up to 2TB HDD
Acer did not have any pricing or availability for announcing the Swift 5. Or for the Chromebooks, so we just have to sit and wait to see.
