Adequate vitamin D levels cut the risk of dying from Covid-19 in half

There is new evidence that an adequate intake of vitamin D makes a significant contribution to protecting people infected with Covid-1

Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) researchers analyzed data from 235 people hospitalized with Covid-19. They found that patients older than 40 were 51.5 percent less likely to die from the infection if they had adequate vitamin D levels, which they define as at least 30 ng / ml.

Patients in the study were observed for the following clinical outcomes, including clinical severity of infection:

Dr. Holick recently published a separate study that found that getting adequate vitamin D levels can lower your risk of developing Covid-19 by 54 percent. He also believes that adequate levels of vitamin D fight off other viruses that cause upper respiratory diseases, including influenza.
