A pilot was ejected from a Canadian Snowbird aircraft that later crashed at Motor Speedway on the Sunday afternoon Atlanta Air Show, reports WGCL, a subsidiary of CBS Atlanta. The pilot landed safely after exiting the CT-144 aircraft crashed in a sparsely populated area.
According to the FAA, the crash occurred around 13:30. The Atlanta Air Show sent a statement to WGCL summing up the incident:
"Snowbird 5, Captain Kevin Domon-Grenier was forced out of his plane just before our appearance in Atlanta this afternoon," states the explanation. "Domon-Grenier has made it to the ground safely and is fine ̵
The remaining festivities related to the annual air show were canceled after the crash. The Snowbirds also gave an explanation on Twitter after the incident.
