"Our family is thrilled to agree to a contract extension with the University of Alabama that will keep us in the care of the rest of our coach in Tuscaloosa," said Saban in a statement released by the university. "For Terry and myself, the Tuscaloosa community and the state of Alabama have become a home and a place with deep roots for our entire family.
" We are very excited about the future and this agreement allows us to continue building about the success we enjoyed in Alabama – both on and off the pitch.
The base salary and the talent fee will increase to $ 7.5 million, and $ 400,000 a year will increase $ 800,000 in 2018 and a $ 800,000 contract payable at the end of the 2019, 2020, and 2021 seasons
Saban, 66, enters his twelfth season in Alabama, where he has a record of 127-20 and has won five SEC Championships: His 125 victories over the last decade are the largest for any FBS school during a 10-year span in the era of the Associated Press (since 1936).

During Saban's tenure, 37 players won 42 first-team All America achievements and 77 players were selected in the NFL draft, including 26 first-draws.
"I have said this before, but the most satisfying part of our job is that the young men who represent our program are growing and evolving not only in football, but above all in what they do because of their involvement could reach our program in their lives, "said Saban in the statement.
