Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., knows how to turn a flattering news cycle because she knows she can count on the support of a large number of slightly impressed reporters.
Having recently compared frontier camps with illegal immigrants and asylum-seekers, Ocasio-Cortez, who is in Nazi death camps, was invited by a Holocaust remembrance group to travel to Auschwitz with a 93-year-old Jewish survivor.
The congressman responded with an unfounded claim that the offer was part of a far-reaching right-wing conspiracy against them.
As stupid as it sounds, journalists jump to their defense again.
Oaxio-Cortez's group invited them to a tour of Auschwitz last week when the congressmen and their devoted adherents adhered to the ridiculous claim that they did not compare the Third Reich concentration camps with temporary American immigration camps. Ocasio-Cortez did not accept the invitation. She did not even acknowledge it and instead pretended that her coupling of the words "concentration camp" with the Holocaust-specific phrase "never again" could really mean something.
The implausible act is that she declined the invitation as part of a "back-clapping" to a controversial Republican member of Congress who had encouraged her to take part in the tour and whose own tour of Auschwitz had meritlessly provoked controversy over mating her with meetings with far-right politicians.
Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, came out of self-imposed seclusion to urge Ocasio-Cortez to accept the offer from From the Depths.
"I went with Eddie Mausberg and [From the Depths founder] Jonny Daniels with In the Depths to Auschwitz & Birkenau", the congressman said on social media . "I had a deep understanding of the Shoah and had a profound personal experience. Please accept your offer.
The moment King commented on the invitation from From the Depths, Ocasio-Cortez suddenly decided to accept the group's offer. But the only reason is that King's tweet offered her the opening she was looking for to escape the invitation while claiming sacrifice.
"When you were last on this trip, it was reported that you also met Austrian Neo-Nazi fringe groups to exchange views," Tweeted the congressman I have to decline your invitation, but thank you You, that you have shown everyone how transparently the Right manipulates these moments to political advantage. "
But, of course, it was not King's invitation, but an invitation from a genuine One Holocaust remembrance group, which also appeals to stubborn politicians like King and Ocasio-Cortez when they forget about the greatest atrocities of the 20th century. Testify to the 20th century.
The last time you were on this trip, it was reported that you also met without a border. Austrian neo-Nazi groups need to talk.
I will reject your invitation, but I thank you for showing everyone how transparently the Right manipulates these moments for political gain. Https: // t. co / TQkaPEESoD

First, King Ocasio-Cortez did not invite to a tour of Auschwitz. He only advised her to think about her calling. Second, do not let it slip unnoticed that she ignored the invitation until she saw an opening to slap an unpopular congressman. Right bravery. Ocasio-Cortez is clearly stating that King, who was expelled from committee activities in January for statements defending the "white nationalist, white supremacist, western civilization," is a problematic person.
Ocasio-Cortez, having teamed up with the King and the extreme right to start a broadside against the Iowa Republicans, successfully distracted from the core question of comparing American immigration facilities with concentration camps. This is clearly reflected in the way she rejected the invitation.
Ocasio-Cortez has also freed her from the possibility of traveling to Auschwitz and admitting that she was, by merging the Holocaust remembrance group with King. It is wrong to compare what happened at the border with what the Jews happened in World War II. In addition, the congressman now claims that the proximity of King to the invitation means she is being attacked by the right wing. And all because she does not want to admit she could have gotten over her skis by comparing the US detention centers to the Nazi extermination camps.
The opportunity to visit the German National Socialist concentration camps together with Mr. Mosberg, a 93-year-old survivor of the most brutal genocidal regime in history, will enable you to witness the testimony of what our generation will sadly do as a last resort as a result of the fact that the survivors are dying at an ever-increasing rate. We await your response and look forward to learning with you about this painful story.
In addition, the US Holocaust Memorial Museum issued a statement on Monday condemning "efforts to establish analogies between the Holocaust and other events, historical or contemporary." So it looks like Ocasio-Cortez is the true ] victim again and again. She has to be a very brave person to get up after being victimized every day.
