The Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny is recovering in a German hospital and posted a photo on Instagram of him walking down the stairs.
“Let me tell you how my recovery is going. It’s already a clear, albeit long, road, ”he told the fans.
Navalny, a fierce critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, collapsed last month on a flight from Siberia to Moscow. After he was flown to Germany for medical treatment, doctors concluded that he had been poisoned with Novichok, a nerve agent developed by Soviet scientists.
The same agent was linked to the poisoning of other Putin critics such as Sergei and Yulia Skripal in Salisbury, England, in March 201
Russia has consistently denied any participation.
“There are many issues that have yet to be resolved, but amazing doctors from Charite Hospital have solved the main problem,” said an exuberant Navalny. “They took me from being a ‘technically alive person’ to someone with a high chance of … becoming a man who can quickly scroll through Instagram and understand without thinking about where to put his preferences.
