Continuing the theme of the strange omissions in Nintendo's upcoming sequel Super Mario Maker 2 Probably one of the biggest disappointments is the lack of Amiibo support in the game. That said, there are no mysterious mushrooms that turn you into 8-bit renderings of video game history characters.
As GameXplain confirmed after talking to a Nintendo representative, support for the NFC characters seems to have been completely discarded for sequel. The original Super Mario Maker supported almost all the characters of the original Super Mario Bros. playstyle and they offered some wonderful possibilities for levels where valued characters both inside and out of the Mushroom Kingdom. Of course, there is always the possibility that Amiibo and Mystery Mushroom features will be added at a later date. The original game has received quite a bit of extensive updates since its release, and with all the new hints (like room for additional game styles) we can only hope that some of these things will be released in the future. Nevertheless, it's a small kick in the teeth Fans who hope to use their bulging Amiibo collection. The release of new mushrooms was a good reason to regularly engage with the original game, and many will miss it.
