County reported 4,962 cases on Sunday

It is possible that Monday is the day Allegheny County has marked 5,000 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic started. The county reported 4,962 confirmed or probable cases on Sunday, an increase of 200 by one day. The county also reported eight new hospital stays, but no additional deaths. One hundred and ninety-eight people in the county have died of COVID-19 since the pandemic began. County Health Department leaders continue to encourage masks, hand washing, and physical distance from others to keep the community safe.
