Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter Announces 5 th Page for Walk to End Alzheimer's ® and New Venue for Essex-Hudson Union Event

Totowa / Marlton, New Jersey, March 29, 2018 – There's no better time than Spring to be one of the five walk-to-end Alzheimer's Events at the Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey plan to chapters in central and northern New Jersey. New this year: The Chapter has added a fifth venue on Horseshoe Lake in Succasunna, New Jersey, for attendees in Morris-Sussex-Warren-Hunterdon-Somerset counties and has the Essex-Hudson-Union event in the scenic South Mountain Recreation Complex West Orange

To kick off the new Northwest New Jersey Run, the chapter hosts two free and public events. A voluntary recruitment lunch will be held on Tuesday, April 1

The Greater New Jersey Chapter is the leading voluntary nonprofit health organization focused on the care, support and research of Alzheimer's in the garden state. The 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer Dates and Venues are as follows:

  • Sunday, September 23 Mercer County at College of New Jersey, Ewing, NJ
  • Saturday, September 29 Essex-Hudson Union at South Mountain Recreation Complex / Clipper Pavilion (9 Cherry Lane), West Orange, NJ
  • Sunday, October 14 Bergen Passover in Overpeck Park, Ridgefield Park, NJ
  • Sunday, October 21 [Bradley Beach, Bradley Beach, New Jersey] Bradley Beach on the Bradley Beach Boardwalk (5th and Ocean Avenue)

As the largest annual Fundraising event of the Alzheimer's Association, the Walk to End Alzheimer's attracts more than 500,000 hikers nationally. In New Jersey, last year's Greater New Jersey Chapter Walks attracted over 4,000 participants, 500 teams and more than $ 669,000.

During rain or sunshine events, Walk Day events provide a live DJ, team photo opportunities, and refreshments after the walk. Individuals, organizations, business groups, and corporate teams are encouraged to join as participants, sponsors, and volunteers. Also company, foundation and individual sponsorships are searched.

There is no fee to start a team or join a team or participate as an individual. Participants just have to set a personal fundraising goal, encourage them with a self-donation, and reach family, friends, and colleagues to reach the pre-established Walk Day fundraising milestone.

In addition to walk-to-end Alzheimer's therapy, the chapter "Greater New Jersey" provides vital resources for community-based and online education programs as well as global research initiatives, including clinical trials.
