Jeff Bezos said Amazon has ordered 100,000 electric vehicles from start-up Rivian Automotive to fully convert the company's fleet to renewable energy.
The purchase order was confirmed by a tweet by David Clark, Amazon Senior Vice President of Operations is the largest electric vehicle contract so far.

The purchase of Amazon is part of its plan to change its delivery fleet to 100%. renewable energy by 2030. The e-commerce retailer already operates 40% of its fleet with renewable energy.
Despite the enormous volume of orders, the manufacturer of electric vehicles stated that it would not affect its other production plans.
According to a spokeswoman for Rivian, Amy Mast, the company plans to ship the R1T pickup and R1S SUV as planned by the end of 2020.
"For Amazon, the first vehicles will be delivered by 2021, with 10,000 vehicles on the road by the end of 2022," she said.
Amazon and Ford are among the investors in the EV startup, which focuses on pickups and electric trucks.
