Amazon released the first job listings for its new headquarters in Arlington County on Monday, saying it would move two Seattle vice presidents to oversee staff development and the international growth of its virtual assistant Alexa.
The online trading giant also announced this The company is renting temporary space in Crystal City so that it can start operations in June, a few months ahead of the originally scheduled launch date for October.
The company said it would be able to accelerate the schedule, as state and district officials are rapidly launching multi-million dollar incentive packages.
This is in contrast to the reception that Amazon received in New York when the opposition prompted plans to cancel a similar facility.
The first list of vacancies on the Amazon job site is small – five jobs, each for multiple jobs – but it's a first step in what the company has promised to add 25,000 new jobs in 10 to 12 years create. The jobs are paid on average $ 150,000 a year, and by the end of this year about 400 of these jobs are to be created.

The newly listed positions include human resources, finance, corporate procurement, and facilities , Employees are recruiting, constructing and constructing buildings to be leased or built on the Amazon campus.
"Although the numbers are low, these employees will help create the foundation for our workforce and our workplace," said Ardine Williams, vice president of labor development in a blog post.
Williams and Rob Pulciani, Vice President of Alexa, are the two executives who move to the Arlington office – a transfer that provides initial information about what types of operations will take place there
The Seattle-based company The move marked the move as a confirmation that the site in Northern Virginia will be a true second headquarters, with senior executives forming teams, not just a satellite office.
The company said that this is the case of leasing 45,000 square feet of temporary space from JBG Smith on the 2345 Crystal Drive, so new employees can start work in June. Earlier this month, JBG Smith said that three leases and two sales contracts with Amazon had been completed for other nearby buildings.
"Strong government and local government support has enabled us to make significant progress in establishing our presence here," said Williams. "We are faster than planned this year and have created 400 new jobs. In the next ten years, there are a total of 25,000 new jobs. "
Amazon must meet these goals to qualify for government grants of up to $ 550 million for the first 25,000 jobs and up to $ 750 million Dollars, when in the end a total of 37,850 are created.
The agreement with the state determines how many jobs are to be created each year, with the average wage of $ 150,000 annually rising by 1.5 percent. The state grants Amazon funding four and a half years after the creation of jobs.
The Virginia General Assembly was so anxious to get the Amazon jobs – and related tax revenues and prestige – so that they approved the incentive package after virtually no debate in January.
The Arlington County Board was only slightly slower to accept a much smaller package for $ 23 million in incentives. This was unanimously the case last month in a harsh discussion repeatedly interrupted by protesters.
Williams has already arrived from Seattle-based executives. It plans to build partnerships with local governments and universities, colleges and colleges for colleges to ensure that graduates have the skills Amazon will need in the years to come.
Pulciani will oversee a technical team focused on Alexa, the virtual assistant, on Amazon smart speaker devices like Echo.
