Alexa is so much more than just the Amazon Echo.
Amazon manager Daniel Rausch was on stage in front of hundreds of people on the Berlin IFA tech show on Saturday to share some big numbers about Alexa.

While Amazon would like to make your digital pictures Buddy, the e-commerce giant faces a lot of competition from many other language assistants. Apple's Siri, Google Assistant, Microsoft's Cortana, and Samsung's Bixby are all trying to start a conversation with you by getting into more laptops, vehicles, phones, and appliances.

From a noise perspective, Alexa is very bright in the future. He said that there are now 50,000 Alexa skills – as Amazon calls his voice apps – and hundreds of thousands of developers in over 180 countries working on Alexa.
He has told technicians in the audience that voice assistants are not just for singing songs. Amazon found that adding voice features to specific devices resulted in a significant increase in revenue. In addition, Alexa's thousands of independent developers make thousands of dollars a month, with Rausch mentions a 22-year-old college student earning $ 10,000 a month through his Word of the Day ability.
The Smarter Home
Alexa started out as a device for the house and Rausch said that Amazon plans to continue building his skills there.
"It turns out that your phone is actually a terrible remote control for your home, you do not want to fish in your pocket, open apps, unlock your phone to control the device right in front of you," Rausch said. "Voice really unlocked the smart home, it's because it's actually easier."
At the LG presentation, Chief Technology Officer IP Park went further on Friday with his company's vision for the home. He said LG plans to use artificial intelligence, home robots and voice assistants to create a home that helps them to better understand and automate more tasks.
"You will not need a manual," he said. Because our devices are learned about you and not the other way round. "
Alexa and his echo smart speaker were introduced four years ago, the echo now led the market for smart speakers in the US.But, Rausch on Saturday said that Amazon" barely scratched the surface "has what it can do with the voice.
So far, many customers seem happy to entertain Alexa at home, and time will tell if they want to keep that conversation with Alexa all day long.
