Amber Heard faced massive backlash on Twitter as she tried to warn neighbors at a US border checkpoint near her home.
"I just heard that there is an ICE checkpoint in Hollywood, a few blocks away from where I live, and everyone is better off going home for their housekeepers, nannies and landscapers this evening …" she wrote in a page-deleted tweet.
Twitter users were quick to call them out.
"Damn amber, you think that sounds like you woke up!" Tweeted a User .
"Hi, amber, I love you so much that I'm telling you this: not all immigrants are housekeepers, nannies, and landscapers (not that there's anything wrong with that), but this stereotype should have been eradicated for a long time." wrote another
Heard did not apologize for her original tweet, but instead and another about immigration checkpoints.
"Checkpoints on Your Streets …. Is this the" big "America we're aiming for? Raids, fences and police stations like checkpoints do not feel like the" land of the free "our immigrant ancestors built . "
After deleting her first tweet Heard published a photograph of a child and wrote " Since this human rights crisis is so politicized, it is difficult to make a simple statement without being distracted from the real one It's hard for anyone to be negatively affected by this in any way. "
A Heard agent did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
