AMD CHIP ALCHEMY hit again, this time the chipmaker sees its Ryzen Pro CPU mix with Radeon Vega graphics on a single chip.

The latest APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) comes in three mobile variants and four models for desktop use

On the mobile APU side, the Ryzen 7 Pro 2700U features four-core and eight-threaded processors run up to 3.8 GHz, with 1

0 graphics processing units. In the middle sits the Ryzen 5 Pro 2500U with four cores and eight threads that run at a maximum speed of 3.6 GHz and have access to eight graphing calculators. And on the entry level, the Ryzen 3 Pro 2300U comes with four cores and four threads, a speed of up to 3.4 GHz, and six graphing calculators.

On the desktop side, it's a similar story just with more power offer as you would expect. The Ryzen 5 Pro 2400G features a quad-core and 8-threaded CPU with up to 3.9 GHz and 11 Vega graphics computers. The Ryzen 5 Pro 2400GE is close enough identical but has a maximum clock speed of 3.8GHz.

The Ryzen 3 Pro 2200G is an entry level model on its more robust sibling with four cores and four threads, up to 3.7GHz, and access to eight graphics processing units. It also has a GE version where the clock frequency is reduced to a maximum of 3.6 GHz.

In addition to the usual specifications, the chips have the built-in security and on-board encryption capabilities of the Ryzen Pro CPUs they address for commercial and corporate use.

And here you probably see the new Pro APUs. You can expect to offer business-focused mobile and desktop workstations in APU options, compact desktops for example for CAD and video editing workloads, and professional laptops that can do extensive image editing and design without being cumbersome and heavy.

There's no word about pricing or availability yet, but we expect the chips to appear in the latest Dell, HP, and Lenovo laptops over the next few months. μ
