A Boeing 737 Max 8 from American Airlines flying from Miami to New York City arrives at LaGuardia Airport in New York on March 12, 2019.
American Airlines extends cancellations for the Boeing 737 from Max's plane until August 19, an important summer travel season as the jets are grounded.
"We remain confident that the upcoming software updates along with the new Training elements that Boeing developed for the MAX will lead to a re-certification soon, "Parker wrote in the letter.
As major airlines continue their cancellations, Boeing said on Thursday that it had 96 flights with the new Max. The fixer will probably do the fix within the next Submit weeks to Federal Aviation Administration regulators.
