The union, which represents American Airlines flight attendants, is requesting an investigation into a video that became viral over the weekend. The union said that the video, presented by American Airlines staff in a burlesque-like routine, was "derogatory" to flight attendants and crew members, a seated man who represents a first-class "executive platinum" customer. The sketch contained the name and logo of American Airlines on a screen.
"This can not happen in today's environment, we will not allow our profession to be sexistically objectified," said Lori Bassani, president of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, said in a statement. "We want the facts about the company's involvement and we want answers."
