An extensive computer failure on Tuesday morning hits passengers of the airlines American, Alaska and JetBlue.
Several passengers report problems checking in at the airport and online, and some say their planes can not board or take off.
American Airlines spokesman Ross Feinstein said the problem was linked to the Saber computer reservation system.
At 11:40 Eastern Time, American said in a statement that the outage was a brief technical incident and had been resolved.
"We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience," said American.
Just before noon on Eastern, Saber also apologized on Twitter and said, "The recovery is in progress."
Airlines urged passengers to be patient, and JetBlue responded to a passenger's tweet as soon as we could.
