Last Saturday during the Capitol defeat against the sticks in the third game, Alex Ovechkin and Andrei Svechnikov got into a brutal fight. The 19-year-old Svechnikov went to the hospital and recently returned to train a full face mask.
Well enough to talk to reporters, Svechnkikov shared his own report on the fight, which differs from Ovechkin. "He first asked me to fight," said Svechnikov. "I'm not a superhero, ask first about the fight."
Ovechkin had previously said that it was Svechnikov who demanded the fight. Ovechkin responded to the request with "Let's go" and the two made punches.
Svechnikov on the fight with Ovechkin:
"He first asked me to fight, I'm not a superhero, but first to fight."
You said yes?
"I said yes I just want to get up for myself."

Also Ovechkin apologized to Svechnikov and said that "he hopes that he's fine, "he" right after the game. "
Svechnikov said Ovechkin called to check on him.
"He called me right after the game and I just talk to him, you know."
Does he have an apology?
"Yeah, a little, you know, I said, sometimes it happened, you never know that." Press conference, Hurricanes coach Rod Brind & # 39; Amour – seen the fight but not talking to Svechnikov – thought Ovechkin was the one who incited him.
"A man's gloves come first, and that's Ovi, that's not our type," he said. "I just heard Ovi talk about it [in his post-game interview]. He said our husband challenged him. If that's the case, it's a bit different.
The split opinions were seen last Saturday in the Coach's Corner. Don Cherry pointed to Svechnikov's repeated physical attacks and harassment of Ovechkin as an impetus, not necessarily an extended and accepted verbal agreement.
"Listen: If you're a guy and you're chasing a guy, you should be better prepared. "Cherry said," If you're a kid and you want to go – he made it difficult for Ovechkin, Ovechkin did not want to go. "
Ron MacLean said that Ovechkin" should not have met a child "and that he is the one who invited "[Svechnikov] to ride."
Svechnikov hopes to return for Game Six, which would be in Carolina on Monday.
