Netflix has acquired Andy Serkis & # 39; live action "Mowgli" from Warner Bros. at an undisclosed price and will be releasing the film next year.
The deal is one of the largest acquisitions for the streaming service. Warner Bros. planned to debut the movie on October 19.
Footage shown in CinemaCon in April and the subsequent first trailer for "Mowgli" showed that Serkis produced a darker version of "The Jungle Book" based on Rudyard Kipling's classic 19th-century story by a boy born in the Jungles of India grew up.
