The Devil Wants to Wear Prada, But the Expectant Mother Anne Hathaway wore Brandon Maxwell when she arrived for the premiere of "Sea Wall / A Life" on Broadway Thursday ,

In the play, which runs through the venue's website at the Hudson Theater until September 29, Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Sturridge play the lead roles in Hathaway's "Love & Other Drugs" and "Brokeback Mountain."

Hathaway's baby bump was in a magenta halter dress with three necklines. It turned out that the dress was only made for the "Serenity" actress the designer had shared on Instagram on Thursday.

"Beautiful mother, who is undoubtedly one of the nicest people on planet Earth. @Annehathaway wears its own #brandonmaxwell on today's Broadway debut of @seawallalife," Maxwell wrote. "One of the greatest joys of our work is to work with expectant mothers during this special time, especially because we have some new moms in our office!"

On July 27, Hathaway shared a sweet surprise with the designer left behind in the garment.

"@ brandonmaxwell, as if it was not enough for you to tailor me and if you change a dress, you've tagged it with this tag." On Instagram, she has a photo tagged "Anne + 1 "of the dress. "Thank you, new friend"

Hathaway announced just days before on the social media platform that she and her husband Adam Shulman had expected it. They are already parents of 3-year-old son Jonathan.

"It's not for a movie … ⁣⁣ # 2," she wrote about the black-and-white photo showing her bump. "No clear line to any of my pregnancies, I'm sending you extra love."

In an interview with The Associated Press, she said she had "not just waved a wand" and received. "It's more complicated than that."

She also explained the motivation for the language of her pregnancy disclosure post.

"I was only aware of the fact that someone would feel even more isolated when it was time to write that I was pregnant," she said. "And I just wanted them to know that they have a sister in me."
