The much anticipated eighth season of FX's "American Horror Story" anthology premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 12, but creator Ryan Murphy and members of his cast and producing team have a few pointers to what to expect from the Show Slip Here
Prior to the premiere Variety compiled the cryptic clues and character details to see what the audience can expect from the upcoming "apocalypse" season.
The title is literal – maybe
"The story begins with the end of the world and then begins our world," said executive producer Alexis Martin Woodall of "American Horror Story: Apocalypse" at the Television Critics Assn. (1
The important question will be: "What is the fantasy of what happens next?"
Two Former Squadrons Collide  "Apocalypse" will be a crossover between the "AHS" Seasons "Murder House" and "Coven", each of which was the first and third season of the anthology. An early teaser for the season showed an unborn child, probably Michael Langdon, sadistic teenage devotee Tate Langdon (Evan Peters) and his rape victim Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton) from season 1. At the end of season one Michael was shown as a young child which was raised by Tate's mother Constance (Jessica Lange).
The two different seasons ended in a very different way, as "Murder House" ended early in his life with the Antichrist, while "Coven" ended with the witch school opening to the public. It remains to be seen how the two squadrons will collide in the new episode, although they might focus on one of two topics.
In July of 2017, Murphy released an Instagram photo, each season of "AHS," with one of Dante's Nine Circles of Hell. Since the previous seven have already been revealed (eg "Murder House" represents "Limbo", while "Coven" was "Betrayal"), there are still two places: "Lust" and "Violence", so "Apocalypse" will probably focus One of both.
It's Paulson's World, We Only Live It
Sarah Paulson, who appeared in each "AHS" season, will not play one, but three characters. Alongside Billie Dean Howard of "Murder House" and "Covens" Supreme Witch Cordelia Foxx, she also portrays a mysterious character named Venable.

In another Instagram post, Murphy also confirmed that Evan Peters is his "Murder House" character of high school Shooter and Spirit Tate on "Apocalypse" in addition to his new role as a "hairdresser. "
Peters will also conduct an episode, but the production has not yet shown which.

New additions to the cast
The famous actress Joan Collins ("Dynasty") joins the season as Peter's grandmother she tweeted in April. Other returning and / or guest stars include Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and Kyle Allen.
