At the beginning of the survey is Amazon, which received 20 percent of respondents. In second place Google follows with 15 percent. Apple completes the top three with 11 percent of the vote. Perhaps most of all, Facebook is still locked in 10 percent of the vote – just one percent less than Apple – despite its monumental privacy crisis due to the Cambridge Analytica controversy. 20 percent of respondents chose none of the above examples.
About 20 percent of Americans believe Amazon has the biggest positive impact on society, according to a survey by SurveyMonkey / Recode. Survey takers could choose between a number of other tech companies. 20 percent chose none of the above.
As for the CEOs, Amazon Jeff Bezos was ranked as the "most likely big tech CEO who has the biggest impact on people's daily lives," with 22 percent of people choosing him. Google's Sundar Pichai received 18 percent of the vote, Facebook Mark Zuckerberg closed 17 percent. Tim Cook did not finish in the top three.
As Recode notes, the results of this survey are not surprising, aside from the results of Facebook. Amazon is consistently one of the most popular tech companies in the public and this survey is another clue to it.
