Apple releases iOS and iPadOS 13.1.1 with Siri and Battery Drain Fix, keyboard vulnerability update, and more



Apple today released iOS and iPadOS 13.1.1, updates for iOS released on Tuesday and iPadOS 13.1 software.

The updates for iOS and iPadOS 13.1 are available wirelessly in the app settings on all eligible devices. To access the updates, go to Settings> General> Software Update.



iOS and iPadOS 13.1.1 are minor updates that focus on bug fixes and performance improvements rather than major outward-looking changes. For example, it fixes a third-party keyboard vulnerability that Apple described earlier this week. According to Apple's release notes, the iOS 1

3.1.1 update fixes the following bugs:

– Fixes issues that could prevent the iPhone from backing up

– Fixes a problem where the battery can be discharged faster

– Fixes an issue that may affect the detection of Siri requests on the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max

– Fixes an issue where Safari Safari search suggestions may be reactivated

– Fixes a problem where memories are slowly being synchronized

– Fixes a security issue for third-party keyboard apps.

There are also separate release notes for the iPad, but the update fixes the same issues:

– Fixes problems that could prevent the iPad from being restored

– Fixes a problem where the battery can be discharged faster

– Fixes an issue where Safari Safari search suggestions may be reactivated

– Fixes a problem where memories are slowly being synchronized

– Fixes a security issue for third-party keyboard apps.

iOS 13.2 may soon follow on iOS 13.1.1. This update has been discovered in Analytics and could be released in beta in the coming weeks.
