Quickly – if you think of Aquaman what is the first song that immediately springs to mind? No matter what song you've just thought, I can almost guarantee that it was not "Africa" by Toto. But that's the song you'll hear in the movie when [Wan Aquaman is rinsed into the theaters on December 21
Ocean to Ocean
I do not know, people. I just do not know. Sometimes such songs do not really appear in the film . They will be on the soundtrack release or playing the credits. However, I can confirm that Pitbull's "Ocean to Ocean" is indeed in the movie – it's set in a scene where Aquaman and Mera jump out of a plane. Listening to the chorus of Toto's "Africa" pop-up in the middle of this song is terrible, to say the least. Pitbull made the following statement for his contribution to the soundtrack of Aquaman :
"The sea, the sea and every body of water is true freedom for me. The sea has always been the border from which my parents came from Cuba and the United States, which gives us freedom. That's why I respect water. Conclusion: water gives us freedom. "
All right, then! To be honest, the stupidity of this song seems to fit into the atmosphere of Aquaman (19459006), which was described by several critics as being unapologetically stupid. And that's fine!
For comparison, here is the original "Africa" by Toto.
It's been a year for strange songs on superhero soundtracks. Besides Pitbull's "Ocean to Ocean", there was also Eminem's utterly confusing "Venom," in which the rapper advised us all to let the devil in.
What was the worse decision between these two songs? I would go with "Venom". None of these songs are very good, but the pit bull track is light and stupid enough to take him somehow . By contrast, Eminem, who is screaming about licking salad bowls, and the song literally with the lyrics, "I have a song full of shit!" You win this round, pit bull.
The soundtrack of Aquaman consisting mainly of the score of Rupert Gregson-Williams is available today.
