A repeat of the launch of an Ariane 5 rocket from the Guyan Space Center, a spaceport on the edge of the Amazon rainforest. The carrier put four Galileo navigation satellites into orbit.

The 47-meter-high Ariane ES rocket lifted at 1125 GMT (7:25 am EDT; 8:25 am) from the ELA 3 launch pad from French Guiana time), and headed northeast on a mission To track the four Galileo navigation payloads in orbit more than 14,000 miles (nearly 23,000 kilometers above the earth.)
