Arrest warrants against NFL DeAndre Baker defender Quinton Dunbar after alleged armed robbery



Miramar, Florida police issued arrest warrants for DeAndre Baker of the New York Giants and Quinton Dunbar of Seattle Seahawks, following an incident on Wednesday, May 13. Baker has been charged with four armed robberies and four charges of grievous bodily harm with a firearm, while Dunbar has been charged with four armed robberies.

According to the police report, Baker took the victims’ money and watches by force and was armed with a semi-automatic firearm. Dunbar helped Baker take money and valuables from participants at a party in Miramar, Broward County. The couple were reportedly hanging out on a barbeque evening when an argument broke out in which Baker revealed a semi-automatic firearm. Duggan also reported Baker has not attended the Giants virtual meeting on Thursday or any other meeting during the team’s voluntary virtual OTAs last week.

Baker, a selection of the Giants in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, recorded 61 tackles and started 15 games for the Giants in his rookie season. He ended with eight defended passes and allowed six touchdowns (opposing quarterbacks had a pass rating of 116.2 aimed at him). It was expected that he would be a starter in the 2020 defense after improving the course of a rough rookie season, with defensive coordinator Patrick Graham (and his system that covers a lot of people) fitting Baker’s skills.

Dunbar spent the first five seasons of his career with the Washington Redskins and had four career-level interceptions last season. The opposing quarterbacks had only a pass rating of 68.4 aimed at Dunbar in 2019, and it allowed three touchdowns. The Seahawks acquired Dunbar for the Redskins for a selection in the fifth round of 2020 in March.
