Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Ubisoft has confirmed that traditional side quests will be eliminated and replaced by “world events”.
Valhalla’s narrative director Darby McDevitt spoke to GameSpot prior to yesterday’s gameplay unveiling at Ubisoft Forward, confirming that side quests in the latest installment of the open world action series are “almost nonexistent”.
Instead, according to McDevitt, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will focus more on what Ubisoft calls “world events”. These are more spontaneous activities outside of the main campaign and don̵
This will be good news for those who haven’t enjoyed Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s bloated, growing list of side quests, many of which had to be completed to improve your character through numerous level goals in his main campaign.
Nevertheless, there is every chance that these world events will feel equally overwhelming. We hope Ubisoft has found a way to ensure that every new extracurricular activity we encounter in Dark Ages England is as entertaining as the last one.
Valhalla launches on November 17 this year for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5 and Xbox Series X. A next-generation free upgrade is available to anyone who first purchases a copy of the game on their current console.
