One of the common features of stylish action games like Bayonetta or Devil May Cry is a system that rates your performance in combat. It is the motivation to play better and to fully exploit the potential of your abilities, which often leads to better rewards. The exclusive Astral Chain from Nintendo Switch works the same way if you play on the Platinum Standard or Platinum Ultimate difficulty, but this time it's a bit different.
Astral Chain battle scenarios conclude with a letter rating ranging from D (lowest) to S + (highest), and there are several factors that feed into the note you receive. The most important thing to watch out for is to use your variety of legions and skills as much as possible. Another important tip is always to run your sync attacks and sync finishers. These make a good score at the end of the fight. Getting multiple chain bindings and consecutive critical backstab hits also has a big impact on the score.
In principle, every sweet move you can make in the astral chain contributes to the total score (1
Astral The chain is very different from its contemporaries. The rating system does not take into account the damage suffered . Right, you can take as much damage as you want (though you do not really want it ) and still achieve the coveted S + ranking – even if you use up your AED revival, a top tank will not be prevented. Damage can affect your score if your combos or abilities are constantly interrupted and you can not perform the moves that add points to your total score.
However, the game does not explicitly make it clear under what conditions this is possible. In order to receive certain awards, you can use their names to get an overview of the requirements. The following is a long list of the awards I have often received in combat:
- Legion ability
- Legion skill master
- Chain binding
- Multiple Chain binding
- Perfect Call Finishing Touch
- Legion of Legions
- Long Range
- Run on Blank
- Accident Hazard
- Medical Master
- Dodge and Sync
- Sync Attacker
- Drop and Sync Sync Attack Master
- Naked Eye
- Full Arsenal
- Several Legions
- Item Hoarder
- Chain of Command
At the end of the day, there are many ways to do it. Achieve S + Ranks in the Astral Chain. It's not an exact science, but in my experience, performing multiple sync attacks, juggling between at least three different legions, and using cool-down attacks to achieve consistent S + ratings has been enough. There is one point in the game (especially in the endgame combat missions) that success can only be achieved by playing this way. Most of the time, you naturally get the highest rank.
